John Mackie
Chief Executive Officer
With more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, John Mackie founded Drill Plus with a clear purpose: to deliver flawless coring projects backed by responsive, customer-focused service.
John recognized the need for a coring partner that could combine technical execution with a practical understanding of each customer’s operational goals. Under his leadership, Drill Plus has grown from a local provider into an international core recovery company trusted to support complex projects across multiple regions.
As CEO, John works closely with clients from planning through execution to help ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, and with the highest focus on core recovery and service quality.
Elliot Mackie
Chief Operating Officer
Co-founder Elliot Mackie brings more than 15 years of global experience in coring, drilling, downhole tool design, and subsurface operations.
His technical background includes the engineering of downhole tools, bespoke coring bits, and complete coring systems tailored to specific formation and project requirements.
As COO, Elliot plays a key role in connecting engineering, operations, and field execution. His attention to detail supports every stage of the coring process, from job planning and tool preparation to successful core recovery and wellsite processing.
Rusty Linn

Co-founder Rusty Linn brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience in coring and drilling operations worldwide.
Throughout his career, Rusty has supported successful coring projects across both conventional and unconventional applications, building a reputation for field knowledge, execution quality, and dependable results.
With a career core recovery success rate of approximately 96%, Rusty provides valuable technical guidance for project planning, field execution, and core recovery strategy.
Magly Cabrera
Business Development Manager
Magly Cabrera leads business development for Drill Plus Coring, supporting growth across North America and international markets.
With more than 20 years of experience in oil and gas sales, marketing, and operations, Magly brings a strong understanding of customer needs, market opportunities, and emerging energy applications.
Her work focuses on building strategic partnerships, identifying new project opportunities, and connecting customers with coring solutions that fit their technical and operational goals.
Freddy Haggins
Sales Manager
Freddy Haggins brings 47 years of oil and gas industry experience to Drill Plus, with a career spanning the North Sea, Scotland, and projects across the United States.
As Sales Manager, Freddy supports customers by helping match project needs with the right coring services, equipment, and operational approach.
His depth of experience allows him to adapt to changing project conditions, support efficient planning, and help customers move forward with confidence.
Marie Harcrow
Administration Manager
Marie Harcrow serves as Administration Manager for Drill Plus, supporting the organization with experience, structure, and dependable administrative oversight.
With more than 20 years of administration experience at Baker Hughes, Marie brings a strong background in documentation, coordination, compliance support, and internal process management.
Her work helps keep Drill Plus organized, responsive, and prepared to support customers, field crews, and management across daily operations and project execution.
Connor Mackie
Operations Manager
Connor Mackie serves as Operations Manager, Coring Technician, and IT Developer for Drill Plus. His role bridges field operations, equipment readiness, core handling, and internal systems improvement.
Connor is responsible for preparing and inspecting downhole coring tools, supporting field operations, improving internal IT workflows, and helping direct core handling procedures to maintain sample integrity, depth control, and accurate documentation throughout the recovery process.
Safety remains his top priority in every operational setting. One of Connor’s most notable field accomplishments was supporting a salt well project in North Dakota that achieved 99% core recovery.
Nathaniel Wright
Shop Manager
Nathaniel Wright plays a critical role in maintaining the performance, reliability, and readiness of Drill Plus coring equipment.
As Shop Manager, Nathaniel oversees equipment inspection, maintenance, quality checks, and shop organization to ensure tools are properly prepared before deployment.
Nathaniel also helps maintain the shop in alignment with QHSE standards, reinforcing a safe, organized, and efficient work environment that supports successful core recovery on every project.
